Sports in 2018

Sports – “Sound mind in sound body” is an oft repeated saying in English. It is particularly true in case of our students who pay equal importance to the development of both brain and brawn. Our children take part in both intra school and  inter – school corn petitions on a regular basis’. They excel not only in academics but also in sports and games. They  have carved out a niche for them elves   in team games and individual events. The following students of our institution have made a mark in different levels:

Yashas R Gowda is the cynosure of all eyes. Right from his childhood, he evinced interest in sports. His interest has paid rich dividends. He successfully competed in Taluk , District and State level sports. He has bagged the first place in these three events -100mtr race , triple jump and long jump at taluk level sports which was held on 7th and 8th September, 2018 at Pandava Stadium in Pandavapura. He qualified for district level sports which was held on 4th and 5th October,2018 at Sir M.Vishweshvaraiah Stadium, Mandya. He repeated his performance by netting first place in both triple jump and long jump and second place in 100 mtr. race.  He went a step ahead qualifying for state level sports which was conducted at Adi Chunchanagiri Stadium in Srikshethra Adi Chunchanagiri , B.G.Nagara , Nagamangala Taluk on 20th and 21st November 2018. He proved his mettle clinching the first place in triple jump and third place in long jump.

He has been selected for the national level sports. We, at Jnana Bandhu , wish him all the best in his future endeavours. Our sincere hope and prayer is that he should represent TEAM INDIA in Olympics and become an international figure. Not to be left  behind , two other children of our school Chandan and Kishore have left behind their imprints in different events. Chandan has bagged the first place in hammer throw in both taluk and district level sports meet and seventeenth place in state level.

Kishore has pocketed first place and third place in Discus throw in taluk level and district level sports respectively. There is always  the next time for these two boys to make it to the national level.
